- Abortion
in American History --By
Katha Pollitt "What was the point, then, of making abortion a crime?
Reagan argues that its main effect was to expose and humiliate women
caught in raids on abortion clinics or brought to the hospital with
abortion complications, and thereby send a message to all women about
the possible consequences of flouting official gender norms. . . In
1902 the editors of the Journal of the American Medical Association
endorsed the by then common policy of denying a woman suffering from
abortion complications medical care until she "confessed" -- a practice
that, Reagan shows, kept women from seeking timely treatment, sometimes
with fatal results. In the late 1920s some 15,000 women a year died
from abortions." Always historicize!!!

- Total
Recall (of our rights), And What Is To Be Done! --By Michael Rectenwald,
8 October 2003 "The country is under siege. With the recent accession
of California into rightwing territory by means of the purchase of
the governorship, we are now nearly the completion of the project
of a 'Total Recall'--a total recall of the rights of citizens to government
of, by and for the people."

1, The
Ballot, The Bullet, and the Grand Refusal --By Michael Rectenwald,
CLG Founder and Chair 13 July 2004 "...[A] postponed election,
or the playing the fear factor for low voter turnout, are acts of
terrorism in themselves. We are already being attacked. This
warning is yet another in a series of attacks on our rights, on our
democratic system, on our freedom, and on our self-determination."

2, The
Revolution Will Be Webcast! --by Michael Rectenwald, CLG Founder
and Chair 21 July 2004 "What are the TRIGGERS, what 'election'
events will trigger the Grand
Refusal? The following list is by no means exhaustive. The Bush
regime may very well alter their approach to stealing the election
this time. But, this is a list that will guide us... The Real Revolution
was against the people and the Constitution and took place in 2000
and continues to this day."
